Privacy

wtm collects no data. No telemetry, no analytics, no account.

The wtm tool

wtm runs on your machine. Your repositories, configuration, environment files and logs stay there; nothing is sent to wtm or its maintainer.

wtm itself makes one kind of network request: at most once a day it asks the GitHub API for the latest release, so it can tell you an update exists. The request carries wtm's version and nothing about your work. WTM_NO_UPDATE_CHECK=1 turns it off. wtm upgrade downloads the new release from GitHub when you run it.

Some commands call tools you have installed and configured yourself: git talks to your remotes, and the GitHub features go through your own gh login. Those requests are between you and those services, under their terms.

This website

wtm.sh is a static site hosted on GitHub Pages. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. GitHub, as the host, receives your IP address with each request (GitHub's privacy statement), and the fonts are served by Google Fonts (Google's privacy policy).

Contact

wtm is maintained by Lucas Picque. If you write to contact@wtm.sh, your message is used only to answer you.
